Who are we?

Although initially concentrating on the retail of trailer spares, the fledging company’s success lead to rapid expansion and new market prospects. The decision was taken to diversify into trailer manufacturing and repair, and within 2 years of its launch the company’s manufacturing plant in Mobeni, Durban was operational.

Now with a decade and a half of successful operation and growth under its belt, Motor Trail is not only firmly entrenched in the KZN market, but is also making steady inroads into the Gauteng area with 2 additional manufacturing branches in Pretoria and Roodekop. The company has the capacity to produce well in excess off 100 units a month and currently employs 250 staff nationally. Its diversified client base numbers well over 100 active clients, ranging from very small owner-driver companies to the leading multi-nationals of South Africa.

To be able to stay ahead of the game in any industry for over 15 years takes a considerable team effort, and for Motor Trail, much of its success is thanks to the hard work, loyalty and long-term dedication of its staff members. The company places considerable emphasis on skills training and staff developement, and a number of administration and manufacturing team members have been with Motor Trail for more than 10 years.

Yvonne Naidoo, who oversees the administrative side of the business and ensures “that everything keeps running smoothly”, has been with the company since its inception.

The Mobeni based company specialises in manufacture of semi-trailers, pantechnicons, tautliners and commercial vehicle bodies to client specifications. It also refurbishes, repairs and modifies units as well as retails spares of all makes of trailer axils, suspension and accessories.
